This jacket is from Yohji’s fruitful collaboration with Italian motorsports-wear label Dainese. Dainese is an Italian manufacturer of protective equipment and technical gear for dynamic sports, including motorcycling, mountain biking, winter sports and horse-riding. Yohji borrowed the traditional iterations of their motorcycle jackets and did them up with logos and iconography while adding his own unique spin. This piece reiterates the classic “Dainese” branding with the 3M logo detailing on the back, and adds a further attitude with the “Riders” bumper patch. On the back there is also the ironic “yamaMOTO” embroidered with a padded Y’s stitch detailing.
