Maison Martin Margiela, A/W 2001-02 Pigskin Leather Zipped Vest
A very interesting and expertly constructed piece from Martin and the french atelier (Pre S.P.A.). Items from this era had, in our opinion, much better construction and fabrication than following years to come.
Here we have an exquisite piece from the collection, Martin and the team sourced a high-quality pigskin leather which, when treated with distressing techniques, gives a look like none other. Beautiful cracking and wear has been added to the piece which will only look better over time. The vest has also been given a detachable sherpa collar removeable with a zipper, which, when absent, shows off a finely cut collar in the same pigskin used on the body. Further details include a two faced button closure at the bottom of the zipper, black ribbing around the waist and a quilted lining with one inside pocket. An incredibly versatile piece for any wardrobe.
