Veronique Branquinho, A/W 2005-06 Moto Style Leather Jacket with Pocket Detailing

In 1995, Veronique Branquinho graduated from the fashion department of the Antwerp Royal Academy and just two years later she presented her first collection, at 24 years old, in Paris. Just one year later she received the prestigious VH1 Fashion Award as ‘Best newcomer in Fashion’. She continued to make solely womenswear until 2003 when she presented her 2003-2004 Menswear collection, in the construction of her silhouettes Branquinho enjoyed playing with a mixture of elements from male and female wardrobes, both in terms of tailoring and in terms of material.

Constructed out of a thick heavy wearing leather Cuir, treated to offer a matte finish which with wear produces an amazing look. Veronique based the silhouette and shape of the jacket on a classic moto jacket, with details such as the belted neck, panelled sleeves and construction on the front and back panels. However, combining this with military epaulettes and a practical four-pocket construction on the front. A standout pieces and look 1 from the A/W 05-06 collection.
