Hosted in the fish markets on East Broadway, New York, Raf kept all the smells, humidity, and neon lights authentic. According to Raf, these references were directly taken from the movie Blade Runner using the word replicant across the set and printing scenes from the movie over the garments. Raf also mentioned the show was about “cultures sliding together - that’s the most important message for me, Asian culture and the culture of the west coming together”.
The classic parka design is one that has been used by Raf Simons throughout his fashion career, first seen in collections such as ‘Fall 2003, Closer’ with the iconic hand-painted pieces by Peter Savile. In this iteration for the S/S18 collection, the Parka is constructed in a heavyweight cotton drill fabric; durable, sturdy and timeless. Featuring multiple front pockets, zip/button closure, adjustable drawstrings and a panelled hood. Most notably we see two thick rubber prints seen across other garments from the collection, placed on the back.
Condition 9.5/10 (comes with dust-bag and hanger).
