Maison Martin Margiela, S/S 2005 Suede Apachee Moccasins
Martin Margiela was seen to use continuous references towards military garments in his work and it led to him producing some of his most memorable pieces, forming the ethos of his work. Margiela’s S/S 2005 collection consisted of everything his menswear represented so brilliantly, military references, deconstruction, Trompe L’oeil and an incredible variety of menswear staples.
Here we see a beautifully crafted pair of moccasins, constructed out of a long-haired suede which has been given a slight vintage look. The features include a metal buckle adjustment on the outer side of each shoe, a centre seam down the top front and a slim rubber sole. An ideal piece of footwear for summer.
