Maison Martin Margiela, Fall 2001 Felted Wool Irregular Blazer

For his Fall 2001 show, Martin a in a tunnel under Paris’s Pont Alexandre III for the location of one of his most street influenced collection to date. Models wore rock tees, thigh-high boots, silken men’s robes, and fringed dresses. Offering a wide seleciton of mostly artisanal collection coming with the white out tags, proportions were mis matched with almost every look being draped or oversized on top leaning very close to street style looks.

Here we have a hand crafted dark grey, felted wool blazer. With tailoring elements made visible with hand stitched pockets and irregular patterns making the lapel fall oddly working harmony with classic Martin detailing such as the Trompe l’oeil button ‘holes’ and 3-pocket placment.
