Maison Martin Margiela, A/W 2006 Snakeskin Leather Faceless ‘Watch’ Bracelet

This piece is a wonderful example of how Martin incorporated the element of humour and fun within his work. From the A/W 2006 collection, where another faceless watch style came from, now made popular by the reissue.

Constructed out of snakeskin leather this bracelet is created by using a typical watch strap with the absence of the watch face itself, replacing it with a snakeskin cover creating the Trompe L’oeil effect. An endearing winder is added to the side to further the effect of being a ‘watch’. Effectively this item becomes and bracelet with a lack of function finished off with branding to the underside showing the line 11 circle.

Fits 17.5cm - 20cm.

Condition 7/10, wear to the metal ‘watch’ face.
