Maison Martin Margiela, A/W 2004 Driver Knit Vest with Fake Sheepskin Lining
In 1999, Martin Margiela created an essential piece for every man's wardrobe, the ‘Driver’ zip knit. The sleeveless iteration, seen in the last slide, was first presented in SS 1999, the first men’s collection. The ‘Drivers knit' quickly became synonymous with the men's line, showing the importance that the piece had to the brands' history still to this day.
Here we have an incredibly versatile and essential piece for any wardrobe. Constructed in a high-quality Virgin Wool on the exterior with knitted pockets on the lower of the vest. Also featuring the high zipped collar synonymous with the classic Drivers Knit design, implemented by Martin into his men’s line from the beginning. Finally, the vest is fully lined with a bore creating a sheepskin effect.
