Maison Martin Margiela, A/W 2001 Felted Wool Blouson
We present here a uniquely interesting and expertly constructed piece from Martin and the french atelier (Pre S.P.A.). Items from this era had, in our opinion, much more precisely beautiful constructions and fabrication than the following years to come.
Constructed in felted wool and polyamide blend gives the jacket a defined structure with a soft to-the-touch feel. A gold zip runs up the middle, placed there to allow the collar to fall wider and leaving room at the bottom towards the hem. Two front pockets are placed asymmetrically with visible stitch construction. On the back we see an incredible inverted box pleat running down part of the centre where it meets a layered belt running horizontally with two shorter stitched pleats on either side. Finally, the cuffs are finished with visible stitch detail and marbled buttons.
One of the most standout pieces from our permanent collection due to intricate attention to detail and pure quality craftsmanship.
