Maison Martin Margiela, A/W 1994-1995 Artisanal Beer Matt Towel Scarf
The collection took place on September the 7th 1994, in nine different stores located around the world; Paris, Milan, London, Vienna, New York and Tokyo. The concept took place across the period of an entire day, models were seen to have silver eye masks place crudely across their faces. In addition the this, all models were not considered professional at the time but were a selection of Martin’s clients and friends.
A fantastic piece from arguably one of Martin’s best collections, using the houses signature technique, whereby three vintage beer mats from varying brands are fixed together to form a scarf. A great example of the strongest house philosophy, reworking existing materials into a new item to be used in a different way than its original purpose.
Size 139cm x 20cm.
Condition is good, no major flaws except a loose stitch on the tag.
