Maison Martin Margiela, A/W 1990 Cigarette Shoulder Tuxedo Blazer

Invited to the 18th Arondisamont via an empty evelope, guests were packed into a room of wood chair and photograhers on scaffolding. Models flooded out in batches sporting a wide range of desgins with his signature Cigarette shoulder making a severe appearance. Models wore massive rubber wading thigh high boots made by aigle and dresses made out of lining material which then went on to become a huge theme throughout his work. During this period aswell Lutz Huelle who created the knitwear was producing some of his best work, with flat sweaters and distressed knits being seen in A/W 1990.

Constructed out of a washed charcoal grey pique cotton, offering an already vintage feel. The blazer is intricately crafted with a multitude of panelling and darting throughout, with the most standout detail being the iconic cigarette shoulder construction. Finished off with a satin silk lapel.
