Issey Miyake, Spring 2007 Lightweight Check Stripe Blouson

The Issey Miyake brand was under the creative direction of renowned designer Naomi Taizawa for the Spring 2007 collection, taking inspiration from the playing fields and white chalk lines he remembers from his childhood. The colour green played a huge part across the collection, using green topstitches, prints and check. Placing sports field references in abreast ways across some tricky and technical fabrics brought a fresh but direct look.

This jacket from the collection is constructed in a lightweight green checked polyester, details include a zipped closure, adjusted buttoned collar, two flap chest pockets and two lower pockets. The lining is also lightweight but durable and finishing off the jacket we see a rope-like thread used across the exposed seams reminiscent of sports netting.
