Issey Miyake, 1980's Sun Bleached Military Parka
Constructed out of a heavy woven cotton materiel which falls beautifully due to the draping and pleating throughtout the piece. A plethora of detail adorn the Parka. Two front pockets, wide rounded high adjustable collar, adjustable waist, box panelling and pleating to the back are just a few details that make this jacket so special.
The most notable detail has to be the sunbleached effect the garment has gone under over it’s time through the previous wearer. The original colour of the piece can still be seen in areas, whilst the discolouration on other parts of the garment show a lighter shade of the original terracotta colour. A detail seen in much more modern works today. A fantastic collectors piece.
