Helmut Lang,  S/S 2004 Leather Sleeve Trucker Jacket

The Spring/Summer 2004 collection from Helmut showed such a wide array of inspiration; from 1990s clubwear, Seditionaries styling and technical surfing gear to traditional tailoring. The major theme throughout was focused towards deconstructed, with many items seen having raw hems, unfinished seams, garments turned completed inside out and reconstructive panelling throughout.

Here, we see the leather sleeve iteration, in which the classic 2-Pocket jacket design has been used as a base. Details include a cut and sew corduroy layered collar, button flap chest pockets and most notably the off-white lambskin leather sleeves. We get a strong sense of deconstruction from this piece, exagerating the jackets elements and highlighting the exemplary style for what the Helmut Lang universe is known for.

This marks one of the standout pieces from the Spring Summer 2004 collection.
