Helmut’s Fall/Winter 2002 collection sits under the radar for most but upon closer inspection, it holds some of his finest crafting, tailoring and knitwear productions in his career. Done primarily in black and white, he maintained his focus whilst diverting with new shapes and reworked existing ones. A lot felt familiar but with and an undertone of mystery with some odd pieces like metallic pleated skirts that blend in seamlessly.
Helmut’s classic overcoat design, tailored beautfully, coming in a vintage cotton moleskin which shows wear over time, contrasting with the luxurious silk lapels. Featuring a slanted pocket on the left chest, two flap pockets on the body, button closure and on each cuff.
