Dries Van Noten, A/W 2014 Double-Faced Front Zip Sweater with Nylon Detailing
For his AW14 Dries gave us a great selection of military-inspired garments, now proving to be some of his most recognised detailing. RiRi zippers, bondage detailing and patched nylon were all seen throughout the collection, alongside his expert use of colour with tie-dyes and dip-dyes. Layering throughout gave us the ability to see the cohesive nature of the collection, even with the wide range of references, and one that will continue to stand the test of time.
The base later is constructed out of a 4-way stretch cotton blend with a terry cotton layer placed over the front body, extending longer than the bottom hem giving the effect of a vest. Quilted nylon detailing is also seen the run from each side of the neck down the arm to the wrist. Finished off two front zipper pocket and a zipper closure. RiRi hardware throughout.
