Comme des Garçons, A/W 1993 Homme Plus Bleached Rayon Blazer

The AW1993 collection was the first Rei Kewakubo chose to name, “The Artist in his Studio”. The technique proved to be one of the most crucial for future CDG collections. To follow the theme Rei chose a hand picked selection of artists of the time Robert Rauschenberg, Doug and Mike Starn, Mattia Bonetti, and Sebastian Boyle.

This blazer here is made out of 100% Rayon which leaves a desirable soft to the touch feel. An oversized fit with shoulder padded offer a unique and oversized fit. A three button closure, con sealed chest pocket and two lower flap pockets. Most noticeable the blazer features a bleach dye technique that appeared on several different types of garments throughout the collection. Pieces were dyed then subsequently bleached, leaving uniquely inconsistent variations from piece-to-piece.
