Comme Des Garçons, Homme Plus x Jamie Reid A/W 2008 Bleach Treated Tartan Blazer

For her F/W 2008 collection there was a clear use of deconstruction as a running theme, underpinning the work of Kawakubo. The radical "deconstruction" is shown in a variety of cut and bedraggled checks and plaids closely bordered with the finest tailoring traditions finished with a heavy underlined punk aesthetic. A key highlight of the collection was the collaboration with Jamie Reid, best known for his artworks include album and singles covers for the punk rock band the Sex Pistols, like "Never Mind the Bollocks," "Anarchy in the UK" and "God Save The Queen.”

This blazer is crafted in yarn-dyed wool tartan fabric completed with a wrinkled finish concentrated to the lower and bottom hem areas. The inside of the jacket features a partially tie-dyed Cupro lining. A three button single breast closure with one under the lapel to create a Chinese collar. Breast welt pocket, lower flapped pockets, interior pockets. A handmade garment, that was produced in small numbers, individual tartan patterns and colour variations due to dyeing process. Finally a reinterpreted Reid's graphic "Lies Lies Lies - The Evil Ones” is patched on the upper back.
