A.F. Vandervorst, A/W 1998-99 Felted Wool Rivet Jacket
From the first collection, already including all of the references and inspirations that came to play a defining role in our brand over the past 20 years: Joseph Beuys, the red cross, religion, horses and horse-riding accoutrements, rivets, lingerie, uniforms and fetish shoes. Models wore lingerie under masculine garments to create a strong inner sense of femininity.
Here we have a staple piece from the collection, constructed out of military felted wool, using rivets to hold the majority of the jacket together. Wonderful details across the jacket include exaggerated shoulders, pleats held by rivets and panels cut to accentuate the body. A true collector's item.
